About WptrSpeedBot

A transparent, purpose-built web crawler designed to analyze server performance, technology stacks, and pricing policies of hosting providers.

Real-Browser Loading

We launch a headless Google Chrome instance to measure how the site loads for a real human, capturing metrics like JavaScript execution and rendering time.

3-Step Connection Analysis

To understand the source of speed, we analyze the three fundamental phases: DNS Resolution, TCP Handshake, and SSL/TLS Negotiation.

Tech Stack Inspection

Identifies server software (Nginx, Litespeed), HTTP/3 support, and infrastructure quality.

Operation & Ethics

WptrSpeedBot specifically targets hosting provider homepages and sales pages. It uses long wait times between requests to avoid server load and only reads publicly available data.

  • No Personal Data Collection
  • Respects Server Load
  • Public Data Only
User-Agent Identification
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; WptrnetSpeedBot/1.0; +https://wptr.net/bot)

For Hosting Providers

We provide transparent info about our bot's IPs and activities. We recommend whitelisting for accurate benchmarking instead of blocking.

Don't Lose Customers

Blocking our bot results in 'Timeout' or 'Connection Error' in performance tables. This leads potential customers to believe your service is down or slow.

How to Whitelist?

Start with User-Agent: Chrome/120. If that is blocked, we fallback to identifying as:

User-Agent: WptrnetSpeedBot
