Equinix operates the most network-dense data center ecosystem in Singapore, making it the de facto interconnection hub for the entire Southeast Asian region. With five major International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers (SG1 through SG5), Equinix serves as the primary peering point for the Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX) and connects hundreds of carriers, content providers, and cloud hyperscalers.

Infrastructure: SG1 (Ayer Rajah): The historic heart of Singapore's internet traffic, home to the Asia-Pacific Network Operation Center (NOC) and one of the world's three GRX peering points. It features 2N electrical redundancy and N+1 cooling. SG5 (Tanjong Kling): A newer, 9-story facility located in the west, purpose-built for sustainability with motion-activated lighting and advanced cold aisle containment. It provides massive capacity for hyperscale deployments while maintaining the dense interconnectivity Equinix is known for. SG3 (Ayer Rajah): Located adjacent to SG1, providing expansion capacity and interconnected via high-count fiber to form a virtual campus.

Connectivity & Strategy: Equinix’s primary value proposition is Equinix Fabric, a software-defined interconnection service that allows enterprises to connect directly to AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, bypassing the public internet for enhanced security and performance. The facilities adhere to OSPAR frameworks required by financial institutions. Equinix targets latency-sensitive trading platforms, real-time gaming companies, and global multinationals that require a consistent operational experience worldwide.
