Advanced Settings Deep Dive

This section covers more technical aspects of your site's presentation and functionality.

Top Bar Settings

Show Top Bar: A checkbox that enables/disables a notification banner at the very top of your site.

What is a top bar? It's that thin strip you see on some websites announcing things like:

  • 'Free shipping on orders over $50'
  • 'New features available! Explore now.'
  • 'Limited time offer - 20% off'

Status Text: The message that appears in the top bar. In the example: 'New features available! Explore now.' with a fire emoji for emphasis.

Use cases:

  • Promote sales or special offers
  • Announce new blog posts or products
  • Share important updates
  • Drive traffic to specific pages

Header CTA Button

CTA = Call To Action - A button that encourages visitors to do something.

Button Text: The words on the button (e.g., 'Get Started', 'Contact Us', 'Try Free')

Button URL: Where the button takes users when clicked (e.g., /contact, /signup)

Strategic tip: Choose action words that create urgency and value:

  • ✅ 'Start Free Trial' (better than 'Learn More')
  • ✅ 'Get Instant Access' (better than 'Click Here')
  • ✅ 'Book Your Spot' (better than 'Register')

Leave empty to hide: If you don't want a CTA button in your header, just leave these fields blank.

SEO & Code Injection

Meta Title: The title that appears in Google search results and browser tabs. Should be 50-60 characters. Example: 'My Awesome Site - The Best WP Site'

Why it matters: This is often the first thing people see when your site appears in search results. Make it compelling!

Meta Description: A brief summary (150-160 characters) that appears under your title in search results. Example: 'A brief description of your site for search engines.'

Writing tips:

  • Include your main keyword
  • Make it enticing - this is your ad copy!
  • Call to action works here too
  • Accurately describe your content
